Leadership
Randy's recipe for his 30+ year career in the food service industry has been the blending of his entrepreneurial spirit with his love of food. Growing up as a surfer and busboy in Hawaii, Randy learned the ropes as a hands-on operator, then quickly made his mark on the island by owning two of the most recognizable restaurants in Honolulu: Nick’s Fishmarket and the Black Orchid. In 1989, he then began his foray into franchising by purchasing his first Ruth’s Chris Steak House in Honolulu. In 1998, Schoch established Roy’s of Scottsdale, Newport Beach and Phoenix as the local franchise owner for the renowned concept. These were among the most successful of Roy’s restaurants until they were purchased in 2002 by Outback Steakhouse.
In addition to being the founder and CEO of Ling & Louie's, Schoch has continued to retain his franchising roots in Hawaii as the owner of five Ruth’s Chris Steak Houses located in Mauna Lani, Lahaina, Wailea, Waikiki, Honolulu as well as a Romano's Macaroni Grill in Honolulu. He also serves as the CEO of Desert Island Restaurants, a management entity that also operates the Thaifoon Taste of Asia in Salt Lake City, Utah.
