    No Whining on Wine Day!

At Ling & Louie’s, you never need an excuse to enjoy a glass of one of our delicious wines! But if you’re looking for a reason to indulge, why not join us on National Wine Day on May 25? We’re serving an Accolade Wine Dinner you won’t want to miss.

The wines we’re featuring that evening are definitely not for boring people. You might want to try Da Luca Pinot Grigio from Sicily. This wine is light bodied with a hint of sweetness from melon and guava flavors balanced nicely by crisp acidity and lip-smacking minerality.

Do you enjoy citrus flavored wines? If so, you’ve got to try Mud House ‘The Woolshed Vineyard’ Sauvignon Blanc. This exclusive New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc has very limited availability here in the United States. The wine overflows with concentrated tropical, citrus and herbaceous flavors that continue across a long, focused finish.

If you like cherries and strawberries, you’ll probably like Geyser Peak ‘Pluto’s Fury’ Pinot Noir. This delicious Pinot Noir from Sonoma’s Russian River Valley is highlighted by luscious flavors of plum, cherry, wild strawberry and a hint of floral and black tea notes.

Grant Burge Shiraz. There’s nowhere on earth that makes more highly acclaimed Shiraz than the Barossa Valley in Australia. The Burge family has been making wine there since 1855 and this wine shows their expertise. The wine is multi-layered with intense depth and texture, flavors of raspberry, blackberry, vanilla and star anise.

Feeling a little wild? You’ll definitely want to try Da Luca Prosecco that offers fresh and zingy flavors of lemon peel and passion fruit all balanced by a subtle sweetness and a clean finish.

Wine has been around for a long time. The oldest bottle of wine was discovered in 1867 by archaeologists in Germany. It’s believed the bottle dates back to at least 325 AD. You can view it at Germany’s History Museum of the Pfalz.

In the Scottsdale, Arizona area? Don’t miss out on Ling & Louie’s Accolade Wine Pairing Dinner on May 25th at 6:30PM. Further details and reservation information can be found here.

National Wine Day also has a sister holiday — National Drink Wine Day — on February 18. Both haven’t been around that long but it doesn’t matter. Wine is not for boring people and we make enjoying a glass of your favorite wine that much more exciting!

Don’t Be Boring This Mother’s Day!

Mother’s Day is right around the corner. Instead of going with the traditional gifts, why not help that someone special in your life celebrate with a #NotBoringNation Gift Card? There’s nothing boring about Ling & Louie’s menu and that special mom will appreciate the thought you put into selecting a gift card from us.

As a thank you to you, we’re offering bonus certificates when you purchase Gift Cards. You’ll receive a $10 Bonus Certificate when you buy $50 in Gift Cards and $25 when you purchase $100. This special gift card celebration runs 5/8/17 – 6/18/17.

You also won’t want to miss the special Mother’s Day menu we’re offering from Thursday, 5/11/17 – Sunday, 5/14/17. Some of the specialties include Karma-Kaze Roll, Calamari salad, Steamed Sea Bass, and Strawberries Flambe. You’ll also have the opportunity to offer “A Toast To Mom” with specially crafted cocktails.

To show our appreciation to all moms, we’re giving them a $10 bounce back for the next visit.

In case you’re wondering, the first Mother’s Day was celebrated in 1908 but it wasn’t until 1914 Mother’s Day became an official national holiday. That’s when President Woodrow Wilson signed a proclamation designating the second Sunday in May as Mother’s Day.

It has become such a big holiday that more calls are made on Mother’s Day than on other holidays or even other days of the year. In fact, 46 countries celebrate Mother’s Day. Most observe the holiday as it’s done in the United States. Some countries look at it as potentially offensive to not celebrate the holiday.

That’s all the more reason to take your mom or that special someone to Ling & Louie’s for Mother’s Day. We promise you won’t be bored!
