September is Whiskey Month – we take that seriously at Ling & Louie’s Asian Bar and Grill! This month we’re featuring a Whiskies of the World Cocktail Dinner on September 22 at 6:30pm in Scottsdale.
The first stop on our tour starts in Japan. Our Jalapeño Hamachi Roll boasts fresh hamachi, jalapeño, avocado and cilantro topped with spicy whiskey-garlic sauce. Pairing up perfectly with the Nikka Sour, one of our exclusive drinks highlighted during Whiskey Month, features Nikka Coffey Grain Whisky, orgeat syrup, fresh citrus and egg white.
Onto the second course and a little slice of heaven in Scotland! Bourbon-Glazed Pork Sliders are presented with apple slaw and wasabi honey-mustard. The Glenrothes Sherry Cask Reserve Scotch Whisky is expertly mixed with ginger-green tea syrup, fresh lemon, topped with Fever Tree Club Soda and crowned as Speyside Tea.
Our third course is a stop right here in the U.S.A. Your tastebuds will appreciate the sweet-spicy zest of the Orange Peel Shrimp and Scallops wok’d in a sweet citrus-chili sauce, served over Uncle Fu’s Fried Rice and crispy spinach. Louie’s Old Fashioned completes the twosome with Maker’s Mark Bourbon, Solerno Blood Orange Liqueur, Peychaud’s Bitters and Bar Keep Chinese Bitters.
That’s not all! What’s a story without a happy ending? This #notboring Bourbon-Maple Crème Brûlée, topped with Bourbon poached apples finishes off the tour by taking you back to Ireland. The last stop of the tour features Irish Bubbles with Jameson Irish Whiskey, Yellow Chartreuse, fresh lemon and honey, topped off with sparkling wine.
